Packard Bell Legend 125 486 SX PC Desktop (DOS 5. 0 Windows 3. 1)
Item History & Price
Reference Number: Avaluer:29850820 | Brand: Packard Bell |
Vintage: Yes | Type: Desktop |
This is 486 SX computer from about 1993.
It would be perfect for late DOS / early Windows PC retro gaming.
This Packard Bell model is notorious for having motheroard damage from a leaky CMOS battery. I was lucky enough to find this one with an in-tact batter (no leakage and so no motherboard damage). I removed this battery and replaced it with a modern battery pack.
CPU runs at 25 MHz. Operating systems are Windows 3.1 and DOS 5.0. The machine is set up to boot with ...the original Packard Bell menu system (icon/button based as shown).
The case has a detailed motherboard map showing all the jumper locations and settings/meanings. It also has indicator lights for hard drive activity and Turbo mode.
Hardware:214 MB hard disk drive [Seagate ST3243A]5.25" floppy drive (high density) [Panasonic JU-475-4 AKJ]3.5" floppy drive (high density) [Teac FD-235HF 4240 -US]Intel i486 SX A88486SX-25 (CPU)100 Watt power supply [Packard Bell PB100D U]sound blaster compatible card installed (ISA slot)One great feature of the case design: you can have it on your desk as a monitor stand - it doesn't take up any floor space and the floppy drives are easy to reach.
Please note: only the base unit is for sale, not the monitor.
