VINTAGE APPLE MACINTOSH SE/30 COMPUTER with Steve Jobs' engraved signature collector's item interior.
The Macintosh SE/30 was the fastest and most expandable of the original black and white compact Macintosh Series. It was released in 1989 and was sold until 1991 and originally sold for over $4400. Based on the Motorola 68030 with built-in 9" black and white screen.
This unit is not currently working and I cannot open the unit up, it needs a special tool to be able to open ...it.
I did power it up and there is no beep, but you do hear the internal fan come on and the floppy drive clicks to signify that it is receiving power. There is nothing on the screen, so this may have some issues there or it may be as simple as replacing the leaking capacitors which is supposed to be a common problem with these from the 1980's. It is being sold as NON-WORKING - VINTAGE COMPUTER - BEING SOLD FOR COLLECTORS ITEM / PARTS ONLY - NO RETURNS!
This is one of the RARE Steve Jobs' engraved signature models, with only a handful of them being used on Mac SE/30's. I never saw an SE/30 before with this interior, and I used to have one at home and at work, so this on an SE/30 is EXTREMELY rare. Photos of the unit from the outside are mine and shot today, the interior shots are stock shots but I could see the interior had the signatures with a dental mirror so that is an added value for the collector.
The right person may be able to rectify it whether it is a capacitor issue or something else, these units were very modular and not hard to fix if you had the tool to open the case which I don't have any more but they are one of the top 5 highly sought collectible vintage Macs and with the extra rare Steve Jobs Signature edition, it is sure to be in demand by the many Apple collectors out there.
