Original Description:
Refurbished Huge Lot of IMSAI 8080 Computer, IMSAI Dual 8" Floppy Drive Thinker Toys, 9 Board, Manuals, and Software.
REFURBISHED     TESTED       CLEAN
A lot of time and effort was put into cleaning and ensuring that both units are working (to the best of my knowledge).
This is a very good condition IMSAI 8080 computer.  It appears to be in working condition.   It appears to have 64KB of SRAM inst...alled on 6 cards.  The computer tries to boot drive A of an attached dual 8" drive Thinker Toys unit when the RUN switch is activated.  I do not have the proper board to test with a terminal.
The computer was completely disassembled.  All metal chassis was washed and cleaned.  The PSU was removed, cleaned, and blown/wiped dust free.  The main BUS board was blown dust free.  All other various items were blown/wipe clean of all dust and debris.  The Computer was reassembled for testing.
The PSU was slowly powered up over 4 days to let the large capacitors revitalize.  The PSU is showing voltages within the proper ranges for both rails.
The front panel was also disassembled.  All parts were cleaned.  The circuit board was blown dust free and the LED aligned.  All switches leavers were washed and cleaned.  All socketed ICs (and there was a lot of them) have been reseated.  All cards were blown/wipe dust free and the card edges (top to bottom) were cleaned.  The ribbon cables were cleaned.  The power and I/O ports were cleaned.  There are a few scratches on the top of the case but nothing major.   The fan, fan housing, and mesh filter have been cleaned.
The computer comes with its original IMSAI owner's manual binder.  It has been cleaned up.  There are many additional manuals and documents included with this sale.  I will list them at the bottom of this page.  Many are manuals for the included cards.
The keyboard that came with this unit is being sold in a separate eBay sale.  Please see my store.  The cable's pin-out does not match this computer.
The Reset and Run leavers are a bit loose but work correctly.  I have included 2 rocker switches if you want to solder in new ones.  They look a bit dirty but it is just the tough texture that has been rubbed off from past usage.  If you decide to purchase and after I have shipped this unit to you, please check that all connections are still secure and the cards are seated properly.  A 5 amp 250v fuse is suggested by the forums but I replaced the old 3 amp 250v fuse with a fuse I had on hand that is also 3A, 250v.  A small bag of a couple extra nuts and screws along with the original fuse are fasten to the top of the larger transformer.
Also included is an IMSIA 8080 8” Dual Floppy Drive Thinker Toys  The dual drives were also Refurbished, Tested, Clean, and Working.  This is a very good condition Thinker Toys dual 8” floppydrive. The unit appears to be working.  The unit was opened up and the inside thoroughly dusted out.The heads have been cleaned. The unit was powered up very slowly using avariable A/C transformer over several days.  This help revitalizes the largecapacitors in the power supply.  The drive motor powered on smoothly when thepower switch is flipped.  The motors are constantly spinning when it is poweredon.  The disk closure and eject systems were inspected and are in good workingcondition.  The upper case has been washed and cleaned.  It has a few marks fromage and being moved. This is a very heavy unit.
It was connected to an IMSIA 8080 with the correctcard.  When the computer was powered up and the RUN switch was flipped the drivewas activated and it appeared to search for a boot sector.  I do not have ascreen (terminal), keyboard, or proper boot disk to test further.
The top cover is difficult to remove and replace. Please note placement of screws. One on the bottom is different then theothers.
The computer, the dual 8" drives, the manual, and the software are all being sold as-is with no returns.   This is going to require 3 different boxes to ship.  More then likely, I will have to double-box both the IMSAI computer and the 8" floppy drives.  Thus the reason I am charging so much for shipping.  Local pickup to highly encourage but not necessary.

eBay policies leave me with no choice but to mark each of my auctions with a “no return” policy.  This is being done to protect me against returns such as (buyer’s remorse).   After using the item for days and weeks, the buyer can submit a return and is not obligated to reimburse the seller for shipping charges and I have to pay for shipping charges back.  Even though it is marked a “no return, “a buyer can still submit a return if the item was not as described or the item was damaged during shipping.  Also, I do not need an eBay policy to do what is right and accept the item back if it wasn’t as described or damaged during shipping.  Keep in mind, that I mainly sell vintage computers and vintage computer accessories.  That said even though the box/item may not show damage, the internal mechanism may have been damaged or jarred from a rough truck and/or plane ride.  I will work with ALL my customers to resolve the problem.  Recently, I have had to take back items where the buyer didn’t check with mom/dad, husband/wife, or God prior to buying and did a return.  eBay forced me to take the item back.  Personally, I do not think that this is an acceptable way to return items.  Many of the sellers on here are just trying to provide for their families and this kind of previous return is not fair to the seller.  We are not Walmart or Costco that cannot absorb these financial damages.   Again, I will work with all my costumers to ensure that they are happy with the item they purchased.  Thank you for your patronage.
