Auction is for a rare West German GSG 9 (Grenzschutzgruppe 9 = Border Protection Group 9) a small elite German counter terrorism police force established after the terrorist attacks of the 1972 Munich Olympics. These well made helmets are based on and very similar to the WWII m38 German paratrooper helmets. This minty untouched model has its original green leather chinstrap with the often missing removable plastic chin cup, leather and canvas webbing liner and original gree...n paint. Helmet is in very good condition showing almost no wear after years of storage. These helmets were also worn buy the SEK (Special Deployment Commandos) and the KSK (Special Forces Commando). Helmet is a size 58.
