This listing is for a pair of early 2000s Hayes G1 mag disc brakes. Often these came in a gunmetal grey with a purple logo but these are a limited edition pair that were offered in the early 2000s. Bought new from the original Cove bike shop in North Vancouver.
I seem to remember they were called "Purple Hayes" - think Hendrix, and of course the Hayes logo is in the colours of US flag. They could have been a celebration of Team USA as well - think UCI Mountain Bike championships. Ei...ther way they are quite rare.They have a dark blue / purple glossy powdercoat finish one them - I've never seen another pair like these.
6" rotors and adapters included, along with nice original stainless braided hose.
Hopefully a vtg mtb guru will be able to enjoy their (fully) working order and collectible nature. The front brake needs a top up of fluid.
