1950's original condition Dick Tracy battery hand control police car by LineMar Toys, Japan. This police car does work in forward and reverse but the small steering wheel is missing on the hand control box so wheels cannot be turned. This classic toy has been played with and is missing the hood ornament and the original red lens top light which presently is not working (believe the bulb is wrong). Everything else is intact but the paint shows scratches and surface imperfections. The fr...ont grille, bumpers and windshield trim have minor corrosion, the tires and hubcaps are intact and look great.
This tin toy was made by LINEMAR TOYS (Marx) from Japan and features a 1953 Chevrolet 4dr. sedan with a tin policeman in the drivers position. The rear yellow license plate has the number 282682 and there are yellow DICK TRACY shields on each door (see pics.).
As stated, this toy operates beautifully in forward and reverse and goes at a pretty good clip !! Realizing that the 36" long vinyl plastic coated control wire (has several cracks) attached at the rear gives you a good workout trotting next to it as it clips along. The hand control features two (2) pink buttons for forward and reverse and is missing the front wheel turning control plastic steering wheel. The unit works on two (2) "D" cell batteries (not included).
The car measures approx. 9" long , 4" wide and 3 1/2" high.
A classic toy from the Fab 50's that is still working 65+ years later and ready to provide more playful joy for years to come !
