This is an extremely hard to find original Gray and Davis direct drive generator for an old car, truck, tractor, or other application. It is likely from about the 1920's. It is fresh from an old estate where it lived in retirement for many decades! It seems to be in great shape with no cracks, breaks, or repairs that I can see or know of. The external components are still on it under the cover as can be seen. It turns over ni...cely with minimal bearing wear but is untested as I have no way to test it. The threads in the mounting holes look to be in good shape. It has the original serial tag on it. It is a large unit measuring about 4 x 8 1/2 x 9 1/2 inches tall overall. It is very heavy. It may have had several applications in the early industrial world. If you know of a direct application please educate me! These original generators are quite difficult to find in the wild or even at swap meets so if you've been looking for one don't miss your chance on this one.
