If you are looking at this listing than you doubtless already know the back story of this record and its predecessor. The irony of this record becoming exactly the thing that it was initially released as a protest against, is not lost on me. Of course, the original argument no longer applies, since anyone can download these songs for free nowadays, or simply listen to them on youtube.
I can't remember ever playing this record more than once or twice. There was no reason to, since Bringin' It Down had such a superior sound. At any rate, I think that it is safe to say that it hasn't been played more than 5 times, and it's appearance seems to support that theory. I can't see a single scratch on it, although admittedly they can be harder to see on colored vinyl. There was a small bit of dust that had gotten into the sleeve during 25+ years of storage but I have carefully and gently cleaned it off. I'm going to play it safe and give it VG+++/EX grade, though it may be closer to NM in reality.
The lyrics insert has a tiny (about an inch in length) LIGHT bend on one corner. Apart from that it is Near Mint Condition. VG+++
The Chung King repro materials insert has light overall wear that is barely visible really, but there is also some slight crumpling or creasing at the top edge that only extends down from the top for a centimeter or two, at most, but is present along that entire edge. One of the bottom corners has a very slight bend (one centimeter.) Overall this insert is also still in great shape. VG
There is also a plain white dust sleeve for the record. It has a small dark spot on it (see main picture, ) but it is faint and of course if it bothers you, you could easily get a replacement dust sleeve.
The cover is also in overall great shape but does have a couple small blemishes. There is a slight fold in the top left corner. It is less than a half inch at it's widest and maybe an inch and a half in length. (see close up picture) It is a fairly minor blemish. The bottom left corner also has a very, very small "crumple" or bend. The entire thing only covers a couple centimeters of area. (see close up picture.) The back cover has a few light wrinkles at one corner, covering an area of a few square inches. (see close up picture.) I have included close up pictures of all 3 of these minor blemishes and, apart from those, the cover is in Near Mint condition, but because of those I have to rate it VG+
Grades that I use are G-, G, G+, G++, G+++, VG, VG+, VG++, VG+++/EX, NM.I won't be describing anything as M or MINT unless it is unopened and the packaging is completely unblemished. Records that have never been played but HAVE been opened, will be described as Near Mint or NM.These are the adjectives that I use when describing damage: Very Light, Light, Moderate, Severe, Catastrophic. To describe damage in between those ranks I say things like: "Moderate leaning towards Severe, " "Moderate leaning towards light, " or "In between Light and Moderate"...just for example.
