This is a absolutely fabulous very rare antique French elephant figural mantel clock with a 8 day bell striking movement and a stunning display design, the gilded elephant and bronze style finish tiger figures are the main features of the clock with the tiger attacking the elephant with the indian mahout keeper/rider to top and gives a fantastic display look The case features a fantastic design with elaborate embossed decorations to the carriage which sits on the top of the elephant with some painted decoration. The case has various embossed decorations to the whole of the case all in great condition  The figures sit on a solid mahogany wooden base with a beautiful colour and sheen to it, the base has 4 brass paw corner feet which are in excellent condition and sit beautifully level with each other

The clock case has been refinished at some point and has such a stunning display finish to it THE DIAL The clock features an embossed gilt metal and white enamel porcelain cartouche dial with roman numerals and original hands. The dial is in excellent condition for age protected by its glazed brass bezel, 3 of the numerals have been touched up THE MOVEMENT The movement is also of high quality being an 8 day French bell striking movement which strikes the bell on the half and full hours counting the hours on the hour. The movement is in full working order keeping time and striking when it should as can be seen in the video above with its french pendulum and a new winding key The movement has the makers stamp of Samuel Marti

MEASUREMENTS The clock measures 15 inches high x 12.5 inches wide x 8.5 Inches deep  APPROX DATE  Circa 1870 This is a superb very rare elephant figural clock and a beautiful display piece. 6 Months Return To Base Warranty On Mechanism

All our clocks are tested for a minimum of 1 week before listing onto ebay and working condition is clearly stated above

No matter how well antique clocks have been serviced they will need final adjusting and setting into beat after transport and a professional person is advised and may be required in order to do this so please bear this in mind before bidding

If on the rare occasion you receive a clock that has a problem or does not work after initial set up and adjusting by a professional person then we reserve the right for you to return the mechanism for repair by myself

There will be no refunds if the mechanism needs repair. I reserve the right for the mechanism to be returned to me for repair 

I offer a 6 months return to base warranty on all my mechanisms (unless stated not working in description)

In case of a problem after a professional has attempted to set the clock up you can return the mechanism back to me for repair

Please do not take the mechanism to a local clock maker/repairer as this will render the warranty void. All repairs needed to the mechanism will be carried out by myself and not by a 3rd party clock maker/repairer unless agreed by myself beforehand. please contact me in the first instance to arrange return of the mechanism for repair by myself

Shipping the mechanism back to me will be at the buyers cost and i will pay to get the mechanism back to you after repair

All repair costs will be met by myself for 6 months after purchase. If a mechanism is faulty after 6 months then i can offer a repair service for a discounted price but this cost will be met by the buyer if after 6 months of purchase
