An early Gary Grigsby design - he'd been designing for SSI for only about 5 years or so, but this is pretty awesome ...for its time 1987 - even included a construction set! Moby Games describes it this way:Panzer Strike! is a tactical level simulation of small unit actions during WWII. Three theatres are covered: the entire Eastern Front, Western Front campaigns that do not involve American troops and the North African Campaign. Panzer Strike includes practically every ground weapon used by the combatants in this theatre(over 250 weapon types). Units consist of infantry squads or single guns and tanks. You can choose to simulate either single battles or entire campaigns spanning several years. In the single battles you can play against another person but in campaigns you play against the computer. The ultimate objective of the campaign games is to fight and win as many battles as possible before the war ends. If you suffer heavy losses during one battle it will take a long time to replace and upgrade your forces before you can fight the next battle. Single scenarios can last from 30 minutes to 2 hours with campaigns lasting up to 30 hours.
The once-glossy two-piece game box is in good condition but is showing its age with mostly edge wear on all exposed sides but there are no major tears, dents, dings or structural issues, just some shallow creases seen only when held up to light in just the right way, and small blemishes in the finish on the cover and on the top left back - see pics. The innards are in very good condition and include the essential documentation to play this game [and for the COPY-PROTECTION as well], namely: the 54 page manual [shallow crease on cover page], and the 23 page Briefing Manual. An unused registration card is also included. The game comes on a pair of 5.25" floppy disks which I can't read. The red label says APPLE 64K disk for Apple II with Applesoft ROM, II+, IIe, and IIc.
This is a hard item to find ... especially in this condition.
