From the Pays de la Loire in France an exquisite hand embroidered hand made Richelieu lace runner or pelmet from the 1900's. The runner/pelmet is of the type that was made at home and is one of a kind. The hand embroideries are in a pale yellow and the piece itself is in pure linen. The piece features remarquable very large stylized flowers and leaves on a lattice background. The piece was certainly designed to be ...a runner. However it could also be used as a pelmet above a door, a window, a mirror where it would give a nice unusual touch.
The embroidered piece is clean and is in good condition. It is not perfect however and shows 2 small marks as seen on Pic. # 9 (they have not been worked on).
Approx. 29 1/2" high x 75" long (75 x 190 cm).
