Prov Saxe ES Germany Bowl. By Erdmann Schlegelmilch of Suhl, Thuringia, Germany. It has a mark that dates it from 1902 to 1937. It is decorated in an arts and crafts style pattern with what appears to be lotus and has a gold rim. I cannot find another decorated like this. There is an "X" on the back, so the question is: is this a reject? Also there is a bluish, inconsistent color on the reverse and there is a rectangular area encasing the maker's mark that has a different feel th...an the rest of the bowl. Because of this, I question the authentencity. You be the judge, so examine photos carefully. It measures 6 1/2" across, 7 3/8" from handle to handle, and a height of about 1 3/4". In good vintage condition with light surface wear.
