Rare 31” Antique German Alt Beck & Gottschalck glazed porcelain head with flat top black hair style. Doll dates to the 1860’s. Head is hand painted and body is cloth (fully stuffed cloth). It is not original body or dress. She has been professionally restored many years ago, like in the 1970's. She was made in several sizes and this size of 31" is the largest and the rarest. Outfit is perfect and so is cloth body. Her porcelain chest pl...ate has a hairline fracture on it. Some one put some masking tape on her and wrote info. See picture of it. Date on writing is 1897. I am selling this for a friend of mine. It belonged to his grandmother. His mother had it for many years and had it restored. My friend, who is in his late 50's, just downsized houses and need to sell a few things. I have seen the head alone sell for almost as much as we asking for this doll. She is a bargain!
