Print by Sherman F. Denton. From Game Fish of New York. New York, 1895-1907. Chromolithographs. We are selling the Denton Rock Bass fish print matted and ready to frame. 
This is an original print signed "Denton" and not a reproduction. 
Don't be fooled as the colors on the reproductions cannot match the originals.Details: • Condition: Excellent
 • Triple matted with an outer crème mat with an inner black and gold mat.

Sherman Denton worked as an artist for the U.S. Fish Commission at the Smithsonian Institute and developed a method of mounting fish that preserved their colors as in life. The State of New York Fisheries, Game and Forest Commission then hired Denton to illustrate their annual reports between 1895 and 1907. Denton fish prints are the standard that all other fish prints are judged.
