Beautiful figural porcelain soup tureen commemorating the Independence of the Colonies and the formation of the United States of America. Made by Hua Ping Tang Zhi, China. It is artfully created in the shape of a large turtle with baby turtle handle on back. The transfer images depict American Revolutionary War soldiers with their tricorn hats and traditional uniforms. The crown and "RF" represent "royalty free" indicating freedom from taxation (that didn't last... long). Measures 15.5" L, 8" H, 8" W and weighs ~ 6.5 lbs. Very well made with small air relief holes in the porcelain. No date, but the maker's mark sets this post 1970, so likely a Bicentennial commemorative piece. VERY SCARCE! Excellent condition with no cracks, chips or repairs. There are remnants of a label inside the top of the shell. Please see photos and message me with any questions. Thanks for visiting my auctions.
