Rare Singer Paul Newman Rolex Cosmograph Daytona Red & Black Wristwatch Dial NR
Item History & Price
Offered here is this vintage Rolex Cosmograph Daytona Paul Newman dial (ref. 6263) with a red face and black subdials and outer chapter. This dial was considered controversial until Jean Singer & Cie. verified that this color combination dial was indeed produced by them in the sixties. Included below is information from an online blog which includes the text of the original letter of response from Singer regarding this dial. From another website, it was ...estimated that the total number produced was between 8 and 22(!) I am not a watch person, so I cannot verify the authenticity of this particular example, but it does appear to have been on a watch. It is missing 6 of the 12 polished silver hour markers as well as the silver crown logo at the top. There is paint loss around the outer edges of the dial. The dial measures 28.5mm in diameter. It has two attaching pins. It has The stamped name and monogram of J Singer & Cie. of Switzerland. The polished silver hour, minute and sweep second hands are in excellent condition. This is a rare dial. It is sold as-is, however, as are all of the watch movements and dials I am offering. Please see all photos. I have sold many Rolex dials from this estate, including Daytona, and none were returned. Please see my other auctions for more vintage watch movements, Rolex and Patek dials, all from the estate of a certified, NYC Rolex repairman. Combined postage on multiple purchases. Offered with no hidden reserve and a low starting bid. Buyer to paypriority post and insurance. (3.00) Three-day inspection/ return on all items I offer if not as described. US shipping only. Thanks.
