This is a rare, tall Himalayan yak butter lamp made of hand-hammered copper with gilt bronze on base rim.Applied detail depicting Buddhist auspicious symbols. The baluster-formed stem is richly-cast with lotus petals.The butter would be melted and burned for a measured amount of time depending on the size and amount in the lamp. RARE TALL ANTIQUE HIMALAYAN COPPER YAK BUTTER LAMP, CIRCA 1810 Description This is a rare, tall Himalayan yak butter lamp made of hand-hammered copper with gilt bronze on base rim.
Applied detail depicting Buddhist auspicious symbols. The baluster-formed stem is richly-cast with lotus petals.
