During her lifetime Edna met with Her Majesty the Queen of England in a private setting. Edna also painted at the request of two presidents President George Bush Sr. and President Lyndon Johnson.
Edna began painting at the age of 9. She attended the Boston Museum School of Fine Arts.
She was awarded the Ruth B. Strudeyvant scholarship to travel and study art. She traveled to Mexico where she created some of her most famous works.
Edna was invited to open a museum on a college campus making her the only female artist with a museum dedicated to her art.
I worked for Edna as her curator until she passed in 2014. She was my mentor and friend.

I have recently seen other Hibels that are not listed correctly. A print is not a lithograph. A stone lithograph is created on stone a very unique process and each lithograph is done one at a time. Edna was known as a master of stone lithography. Sadly this is becoming a dying art form. Lithography was invented in the 1800s.
Many artists have used this artform. Dali, Picasso, Miro among others. They also used this same Atlier in Zurich that Edna used to create her lithographs.Edna is also known for her beautiful colorful florals. Edna has been compared to the famous artist Mary Cassatt.
