1976 Presidential Campaign, Original Pinback ButtonRare, Measures 2.25 inches in Diameter
This button is from the 1976 presidential campaign touting Republican candidate Ronald Reagan, who had been governor of California. This is a tough button to find, especially at its measurement of 2.25 inches in diameter. Reagan did not advance to the general election in 1976, when incumbent President Gerald Ford secured the Republican nomination. He ...did, however, win the general presidential election in 1980 when he defeated Democratic incumbent President Jimmy Carter.
The button's front is in very good shape: the colors are sharp and there is very little wear or fading. There is one spot that has residue on it (presumably from a price tag?) that looks like it can be removed. The picture showing the button is a very close-up scan, which picks up the "newspaper quality" of the photos. The button's back has some minor scratches, including one that looks like someone may have scribbled a dollar sign very lightly into the metal. (Please examine the photos with this listing very closely for condition.) There is no oxidation or rust on the back.
The side of the button has the following written on it, "NC Slater Corp, NYC 11."
Shipping is just $1.30. The button will be insulated inside a 4" x 7" padded envelope
I have other buttons from other presidential campaigns listed on eBay. If you buy this button and one of the others I have listed, I will combine pricing and shipping. Please message me with any questions.
