** We’ve beensorting through several generations of family keepsakes that have been inclosets or the attic for years. Had anappraisal recently. We’re keeping a fewthings and looking for good homes for the rest…This set of small silverplate serving utensils is from the early 20th century, most likely circa 1900-1905.
The set, made in Sweden by Nils Johan, comprises a spoon, tongs, butter spreader and pickle fork. The handles feature an embossed floral design o...n the front and an engraved filigree pattern on the back. They are marked either "Nils Johan E.P. NS. ALP." or " Extra PR. NS. ALP.".
These belonged to my grandmother. The spreader is about 5-3/8" long, the other pieces are 4" long.
All are in very nice condition, no wear or damage I can see. They were very tarnished when we uncovered them, and I've cleaned them up quite a bit, but they could still use more work in the hard-to-reach areas! I used only silver cream and cotton to clean them.
