Rare Royal Doulton Gold Heart Bunnykins DB130 SweetheartStamped to the base as a prototypefigurine, with wording clearly displayed under the glaze as “The Property ofRoyal Doulton” and “Not Produced for Sale”, which was wording used by RoyalDoulton on the base of numerous prototype and/or colourway, sample pieces, there remains some element of doubt with this piece and as such, it is notbeing sold as it declares itself to be. A lot of money was initially paid for this piec...e from a U.K. baseddealer, but it cannot, in all honesty, be authenticated, with their also being noavailable opportunity for recompense from the original seller.
However, it is still a lovely and very attractive little piece that ispresented in perfect condition, and is completely free of any chips, cracks ordamage. On close inspection, allcolouring remains bright and beautifully presented. There doesn’t appear to be signs ofoverpainting, but as the now current owner and seller of this piece, it is thoughtbest to simply sell it ‘as is’, although it is still a rare and unusual little bunny.
A delightful piece – if only it could speak and tell its own story, but thisnow remains for others viewing this listing to determine whether it is real, orotherwise, for themselves.
