Note that once leather is cracked there is no way tofix the leather fibers. Cracking and flaking is due to loss of natural oilsover time causing the leather fibers to shorten and stiffen. Oils in thePecard Antique Leather Dressing return this essential requirement to theleather, allowing the fibers to perk up and prevent further damage. PecardAntique Leather Dressing can also be applied to new oil tanned leather torepel harmful dirt and water. This specialty formulated blend of waxesincludes beeswax, USP Grade Petroleum products and contains NO animal fat ortallow, mink oil, lanolin, or neatsfoot oil. May darken leather a shade butnot significantly. Not recommended for Suede or NuBuck leather.
