Original Description:
This fabulous brass coin weight from around 1775 was to check the weight of a 1 guinea gold coin. It is in very nice condition and identified in Withers book of British Coin Weights under reference number 1999 (O) and classified as RR, the rarest category. It is in very good condition with some of its original lustre and very little wear as shown, although obviously the die used was worn in parts when it was made.
