Item History & Price
Reference Number: Avaluer:30602178 | Product Type: Memorabilia |
Argus and Australasian 1928-29 MCC Ashes Tour cricket Guide. Pre-Tour programme RARE Good cond.
These were produced as supplements to The Argus and The Australasian newspaper in the 1920s and 30s. They covered the MCC and South African Test Match tours. They were usually flimsy folded newspaper pages which the reader compiled into a booklet. As a set they are increasingly rare because of their ephemeral nature.
This edition has great significance bec...ause it was Bradman's first series.
Quaintly described as "a country player from Bowral" his achievements in the Sheffield Shield were already attracting intense interest.
He was about to explode on to the international cricket scene and dominate for the next twenty years.
It is in good condition for its age with the photos showing some small nicks and folds to the to the edges of the pages.
Clean and bright throughout this is a perfect chance to get your hands on some early cricket history.
See my other cricket books INCLUDING the nest in the series, the 1929-30 ARGUS CRICKET GUIDE and cards for sale.
Condition is Used. Sent with Australia Post Standard.
