The straight hickory shaft is socketed into the wooden head. The whipping is unlikely to be original and is loose. The head is 9cm across, 6cm deep and 3cm high. It has a scared face, large lead rear weight and the original horn plate which fixed with dowels, dating the club to circa 1900. The maker's signature is impressed across the head of the club in italic script. The grip leather is loose and worn but the hickory is in good condition.Jack Rowlands was assistant under David Herd at Littlestone Golf Club fro 12 years from 1896.
