HE STARTED HIS FOOTBALL CAREER WITH DUMBARTON 1922 - 1924, BETHLEHEM STEEL 1923 - 1924, ABERDEEN 1924 - 1925, HUDDERSFIELD TOWN 1925 - 1930. HE MOVED TO CHELSEA 1930 - 1932, MAKING 65 LEAGUE APPEARANCES AND SCO...RING 26 LEAGUE GOALS. HE JOINED ASHTON NATIONAL 1932 - 1933, MARGATE 1933, OGC NICE 1933 - 1934 AND LE TOUQUET 1934 - 1936. TRAGICALLY ALEX WAS KILLED IN A TRAFFIC ACCIDENT ON 15th NOVEMBER 1946, AGED JUST 41, WHILST SERVIING WITH THE ARMY IN EGYPT.&ALEXANDER GEORGE "ALEC" CHEYNECHELSEA 1930 - 1932 & 1934 - 193669 LEAGUE APPEARANCES, 13 LEAGUE GOALSSCOTLAND INTERNATIONAL 1929 - 1930 5 X CAPS, 4 X GOALSALEC WAS BORN IN GLASGOW ON 28th APRIL 1907. HE SIGNED FOR ABERDEEN IN 1925 BEFORE MOVING TO CHELSEA IN 1930, MAKING 60 LEAGUE APPEARANCES AND SCORING 11 LEAGUE GOALS. HE JOINED NIMES IN 1932 BUT RETURNED TO CHELSEA IN 1934, MAKING A FURTHER 9 LEAGUE APPEARANCES AND SCORING 2 MORE LEAGUE GOALS. HE SIGNED FOR COLCHESTER UNITED IN 1937. HE WENT ON TO MANAGE ARBROATH IN 1949 UNTIL 1955. This Signed Newspaper Cutting has come from my Collection and I have included a Crested Card. Both Alex and Alec have Hand Signed in Black Ink (Fountain Pen) and it was signed at the time. Very Good Prominent Signatures that look a lot better than the scan suggests. This would look Excellent if Framed. Tragically Alex was killed in a traffic accident on 15th November 1946, aged just 41, whilst serving with the army in Egypt and Alec passed away on 5th July 1983. If it is just an Autograph or the Picture is small then I have mounted it on a Crested Card and it comes with a Free player glossary and a Free picture if I have one available for that particular player.
