EXTREMELY RARE! Vintage Cincinnati Reds 1974 Baseball Bobblehead Nodder.
Manufactured in Korea by Sports Specialties Corp. Los Angeles, CA. 90024
In searching sold and unsold items on Ebay and the entire internet have not found this particular bobblehead up for sale at all at this point in time at any price. This particular Cincinnati Reds bobblehead made by Sports Specialties in 1974 (manufactured in Korea) is a rare find indeed!
Please note..., there is a similar looking Cincinnati Reds bobblehead out there also made by Sports Specialties in 1974, but this version was manufactured in Taiwan, rather than Korea. The Taiwan version lists for less money and is made of inferior quality. The paint on the Taiwan version is quite dull looking in comparison to the Korea version, especially the flesh (skin) tones. The Taiwan version has sticker emblems on the hat and uniform, whereas the Korea version has the emblems painted on. There are details like stitching on the ball and shoelaces that are painted on the Korea version, but these details are completely missing from the Taiwan version. Also the ballplayer has brown (brunette) hair on the Taiwan version, but ballplayer is a red head on the Korea version. Much more fitting for a Cincinnati Reds player!
This vintage bobblehead baseball player stands 7" tall and is made of hard plastic composition. Pre-owned (used). Some very minor wear and paint loss. The first "i" in Cincinnati is faded from wear. Overall though, the paint colors are very bright and bobblehead in great condition. The spring is in very good condition as well.
