Title:2 Large Framed Tintypes Description:Presented for your consideration is this pair of framed tintypes. The pair of tintypes is what is commonly referred to as Grandma & Grandpa tintypes as they picture an older gentleman and an older lady. The tintype of the man shows a very well dressed man sitting in a ladder back chair and looking directly at the camera with his hands on his lap. The tintype of the woman shows the woman sitting in a chair and wearing a black dress and ...white bonnet. To the left of the woman, a large tassel can be seen hanging from the ceiling. There are no markings to indicate the identity of the woman but a label on the back of the man's frame identifies him as Neil Kalmish. The images are crisp and clear with bold tones. Each has a cream colored matte with gold edging around the image. Both images are framed in oval, shadow box style frames. The glass is intact on each. Guaranteed to be antique. These neat tintypes would make a great addition to any photographic memorabilia collection! Would look great displayed in a Victorian home!
The backing is missing on the back of one frame, causing the tintype and glass to be loose in the frame. Inside edge of the frames have some wear spots. Tintypes appear to be free of damage.
