Here is a beautiful Jade green Sheaffer’s 5-30 lever filler with gold trim in amazing condition. It weighs 16.50g. It is 4&1/2” capped and 5&3/4” posted. The nib weighs 0.55g, and is 27.7mm long. The nib reads: SHEAFFER’s 5-30 MADE IN USA; The barrel reads: WA SHEAFFER PEN CO FORT MADISON, IA USA PAT AUG. 25 08 DEC. 10-12 JAN. 27 OCT 20- NOV 24. 14. Clip reads: SHEAFFER’S; cap reads: 5-30. This pen writes with a very smooth medium line, semi-flex with variation around 0.50mm ...to 1.+mm. The lever works smoothly and perfectly, the clip is secure as well as are the gold bands. The cap screws onto the barrel tightly and securely. This pen also posts nicely. There are no issues with this pen, as it is functioning great and looks beautiful . It will make a wonderful addition to your collection or a reliable daily writer.I can tell this is an older pen, early 1920’s. I’ve felt other Sheaffer jade pens, and this one just feels more solid. Some of the jade celluloid pens feel brittle, but this one feels solid, smooth, heavy, and has a beautiful color. The pen simply feels like s top-quality pen, as it is. Please look at the pictures closely as they are part of the description. The pen has been fitted with a new number 20 sack, for long days of writing. The nib, feed and section have all been cleaned and are ready to write with your favorite ink! Pen comes with a soft velvet pouch, so you can keep it protected when bringing it with you to show off to your friends! Feel free to message me with any questions you might have, and I will get back to you as soon as I can.(I must note that when you handle an old fountain pen, you cannot just put it in your pants pocket and walk around without it leakIng. If you want to bring a fountain pen with you, the writing end must be facing the sky. These fountain pens do have a sack of ink inside of them, if you walk around with the pen in your pocket with the tip down it’s going to leak ink. The beautiful creation of the clip was able to solve the leakage problem as long as you can keep the pen pointed upright while you are traveling. Also of note, when you are filling a vintage fountain pen don’t immerse the sectIon past where the section and the barrel meet, only put the section into the ink halfway; otherwise, ink can get into the gap between the barrel and the section and keep getting your fingers dirty even after you’ve cleaned your pen. You could think your pen is defective, but it’s probably user error.)
