The items I will be auctioning off are from an elderly ladies estate, and these vanity items belonged to her grandmother and great aunt. They have been in a curio cabinet for 60 years for protection. She has an excellent high end collection. Some are from the Victorian era, others from the art deco period. ... All would be at least 90+ years old, most over 120 years old.PLEASE UNDERSTAND I CANNOT ACCEPT RETURNS, AS I AM CONSIGNING THESE FOR A FRIEND. DESCRIPTION: This is a GORGEOUS art deco handpainted on porcelain disc hatpin. Very beautiful and unique hatpin. Porcelain disc was painted by a skilled Victorian, it has a background of entire gold gilt, none missing, with a bright blue art deco design handpainted and outlined with a thin black line, a very stunning and beautiful oval shaped hatpin in exceptional condition. Mounted by a jeweler on correct brass disc back with prongs holding the porcelain, and correct jewelers finding, and correct stem. Very well made.Really a gorgeous hatpin, that has survived over 120 years. Dates from late 1800's to 1905.
CONDITION:Very little, to no wear, even to the edges of the gold gilt background, No damage, only normal wear you would expect from use and age of the item, and storage conditions also apply. No bends or breaks, no chips, cracks, and no other problems. No repairs, no solder, no glue, Stem is what I consider straight, and very sharply pointed. Hatpin shows normal, age related wear that you would expect for a hatpin 120+ years old. Stems might have some tarnish, discoloring, rust, or mild corrosion, that should be expected, and can be cleaned off with steel wool if desired. Really lovey on display. SIZE: (measurements are within 1/8")Top measures: 1 1/8" across. Total length, including top is: 8 1/2" long.
NOTE:I use recycled packing materials, so if you have any allergies that tissue paper or bubbles or other packing material will bother you, let me know ahead, as I will have to buy new tissue and boxes, just for you, and it raises your shipping cost. I believe in recycling, best for our enviornment, and since the items do not absorb any odors, the packing might smell old, stale, have a pet hair, etc. In whatever way the packing came to me, I re-use everything I can in sending your item to you. It does save alot in packaging costs.
