A handsome looking Russian Cossack Kindjal dagger with a highly decorated blade (which is still very sharp and comes to a needle point at the end), the blade has multiple fullers or grooves, some of which are decorated with wavy lines. The handle is made of cow bone and has three silver silver pins each decorated on the front side. The scabbard is wood covered with leather and brass which is highly decorated on both sides. The condition is mostly good, showing age and wear overall..., but still solid with nothing loose anywhere (it appears at some point in its history a metal belt loop was added to the back side of the scabbard). The dagger is about 1-1/4 inches at the widest point and 11-1/4 inches overall with a 7 inch long blade. We are selling this item from an old collection.
