Large Antique Haystack Copper Jug By Peerage England 1910 - 1920 Description Welcome to Bigals Pandoras Box, treasures to suit every pocket This auction is for an antique, long copper haystack jug, could have been used as an ale jug but a nice old piece in good condition.T...his is a good antique piece with no major dings and a few light polishing marks.
The item has a decoration of light planishing ( this is where there are lots of hammer taps to give a slightly bark looking finish )
I have left the item in uncleaned condition as some buyers prefer the aged appearance , as do I, but it would polish up very nicely, if the buyer wished to do so. The jug measures approx 10.5 inches tall to the top of the handle ( 270mm ) and is approx 9.5 inches across the base ( 240mm ). It weighs approx 1kg ( 2.2 pounds ) before packingIt has a copper rivets holding the handle secure top and bottom , these are secure and tight. and it has a beautiful soldered seam with copper extended tags to make the joint more secure , this as a good sign of quality, as shown.
