Jefferson City, MISSOURI - Warwick Village - ROADSIDE - 1939: Jefferson City is the capital of the U.S. state of Missouri. As of the 2010 census, its population was 43, 079, making it the 15th largest city in the state. It is also the county seat of Cole County, although a small portion of the city extends into Callaway County. It is the principal city of the Jefferson City metropolitan area, which has a population of 149, 807 and encompasses both counties. Warwick Village, was a Coff...ee Shop and Cottage area built for central Missouri residents and out-of-towners. Warwick Village was one of the first Motor Courts in central Missouri, built in 1935 along the design characteristics of the European Villages displayed at the Chicago World’s Fair in 1934. Following World War II, the 4-storey Hotel building was added to the compound and in it’s prime days lodged many elite businessman and politicians, including then Senator Harry S.
