ANTIQUE CYLINDER MUSIC BOX plays 6 SCOTS AIR working PVF - CASE POOR clock work
ANTIQUE CYLINDER MUSIC BOX plays 6 SCOTS AIR working PVF - CASE POOR clock workClick images to enlargeDescriptionAntique Swiss cylinder music box playing 6, mainly Scottish airs - I recognise "The Blue Bells of Scotland" & "Auld Lang Syne". The music box was ...made by PVF and is an early example with serial number 34533 and the Lion mark stamp of the firm impressed to the top of the governor. I have uploaded a video featuring the first two airs.
Though working there are a few bent pins on the cylinder and the stop/start will require attention (lifting spring and a bar from the lever to work it). The case is very poor with loss and damage caused by woodworm.
Weighs 5.2kg before wrapping. The case is 13.75" (35.5cm) wide, 8.5" (22cm) deep and 5.25" (13cm) high. The comb is around 6" (15cm) and there is no damage to the 58 teeth. The cylinder a similar length.
Please have a good look at the pictures and message me should you require more information.
