This is an early 'Plymouth, Conn.' seth thomas shelf clock. It has a signed S. Thomas, Plymouth, Conn. movement, meaning it was made before the name of the city was changed from Plymouth, to Thomaston, Conn., in recognition of the Seth Thomas Clock Company. All clocks after 1866 were marked Thomaston, Conn. It stands 9 1/2 x 71/8 inches, with a roman numeral dial 3 3/8 inches in diameter. Look at its special rounded style brass plate movement.
