Vintage loupe by famous Carl Zeiss Jena,
reference-quality achromat lens with 8x magnification. Optics: Made in Germany by famous Carl Zeiss Jena factory from 1950s to 1990s. Glass lens is of 14mm diameter with 8x magnification power. Durable metal housing painted black to eliminate reflections that can alter the color of the object you are viewing. Lens can be unscrewed for cleaning if needed. Reference-quality achromat optics without distortion (all lines will be strai...ght) and chromatic aberrations (no extrinsic colours), as a result you have a bright, clear and sharp image, please see photos with examples; high resolution and large field of view if compared to similar loupes. This type of loupes were made by Carl Zeiss Jena not for the market, but only for internal usage on the factory, you can see them in photos №11 (Zeiss Information Magazine 1992) and №12 (Jena ursprung und sitz der Carl-Zeiss-Stiftung 1980 book). So this particular loupe was used by workers of Carl Zeiss Jena factory and is a part of history by itself. Rare find!
Dimensions: Total length is 72mm (2 3/4").
Condition: Overall very good condition, but the lens has small defect on the outer edge, which do not affect its usage in any way. Housing has no damage, just some minor natural age-related wear, all joints are firm.
