Here is this magnificent mid-to-late 20th century vintage solid 18 K yellow gold thick and sturdy butterfly brooch encrusted with natural sapphires rubies and emeralds with diamonds on the tips of its antennae and a border of fine seat pearls around the wings its beauty is almost beyond description . It weighs 10.8 grams and measures 2 1/8 inch across at the tip of the wings . There are 24 e...meralds 12 rubies and 10 sapphires with 0.035 ct natural single cut diamonds in the eyes and a total gem ct weight of approx 6.45 tcw . . The gemstones are all fine quality and very securely set and surrounded around the border of the wings in fine seat pearls that are without abrasions were scratches . There are there are 48 gemstones here including the diamonds and this butterfly brooch is a masterpiece , please see the back because it has as much fine detail and is as beautiful as the front and under close examination shows that every gemstone was so carefully placed . I can't imagine the amount of time a jeweler had to spend in order to hand make a piece like this but it was most likely privately commissioned by someone with a lot of money who found the very best jeweler they possibly could to make the most beautiful gemstone and diamond butterfly brooch imaginable and present it as a gift to someone who loved butterflies . Made somewhere in the early to mid 20th century making it 70 to 90 years old it is in magnificent condition .please see the photos it is one of the finest butterfly brooches I personally have ever seen . This brooch accompanied with a two-page complexed appraisal at a very modest $7500 . Now please see the back of the brooch it has a perfect straight pin and sturdy closure that on each end is supported by a very sturdy gold platform therefor this brooch can be taken to a jeweler with a laser and easily have 2 jump rings added so that it can be worn as a dual jump ring pendant on a chain and would probably fulfill its purpose because let's face it brooches are not very popular and somewhat hard to sell . It was my plan to turn this into a amazing brooch into a sturdy pendant so that could be worn from at least a 6 mm Omega chain and due to the current situation around us I must simply sell it as a brooch nevertheless please see the photos it is one of the most beautiful brooches we will ever see and it needs a home . ...This item will be shipped priority mail immediately.
