1937 Vintage Photo by ACME. Chicago Police Officers, at left, as they forced a crowd of a thousand striking steel workers to retreat after stopping their march on the Republic Steel Plant in South Chicago on May 28. The plant has continued to operate during the strike. 24 were injured in the battle, several having to receive hospital attention.
