The DCC170 by Philips is a portable digital compact cassette player AND recorder that allows digital recording on a DCC cassette. It can also play regular cassettes. For those of you looking at this listing, you know exactly what this is. These units where rare and mostly sold in the 90ies.The box was opened to replace the belt as the box was unopened for 25 years. Today all units that remain on the market suffer from broken belts, bad capacitors and non working batteries, that ca...n't be replaced. The head on the DCC170 is a masterpiece. It allows 36 tracks.
