What is the "Red S" Singer Featherweight all about? During the final years of production of black 221 Featherweights Singer "updated" the style of the oval Singer badge on the front of the machine from the antique-looking "shuttle and spool of thread" logo to a bright, bold, modern-looking "Red S". The machines were also labeled "221K", the K to indicate manufacture at Singer's UK plant in Kilbowie, Scotland. These 221Ks that were destined for export to the US were equ...ipped with original 110 volt motors produced in their St. Johns, PQ, Canada factory. These Red S Featherweights were only produced for a couple short years so they are relatively scarce, and to Singer Lovers they have become a favorite one to seek out!!This Beauty is a GREAT FIND!
