This STUNNING midcentury chess set is made of pewter and copper. Made in the 50s in England.
This is a rare, hard to find chess set.
The designer is Phyllis Fredenthal Schwartz aka "Fredi" originally DJAYA.
The figurines vary in size from the king standing at 5 1/4" tall to the pawns at 3" high. The set is complete and in worn vintage condition with all pieces and the original storage case.

The wooden box measures 18"L x 7 3/4"W x 4"H.
This set is called "Contemporary Gothic" the figurines wear a Maltese design and boast a medieval dress.
Beautiful, hard to find, stylized set! Will make a lovely addition to any collection.
