Super RARE, collector's grade, Asahi Pentax (original) also called AP 35mm film camera, serial number 140279, with 58mm f2, 4 Takumar pre-set lens, serial number 137644, and lens cap.
In 1957 Asahi Pentax introduced the AP model, imported and sold by Sears in the US as the Tower 26.It was a completely new design from the earlier Asahiflex.It incorporated an eye-level pentaprism, interchangeable lenses with standard 42mm threaded lens mount, rapid-advance lever and folding rewinding ...crank.The 58mm f2.4 lens was a redesigned version of the Takumar in M37 mount for the earlier Asahiflex, and it was produced in M42 mount for only 10 months and ONLY for the Pentax AP/Tower 26.
Camera and lens are in prime, collector's condition.They have been serviced (CLA'd - cleaned lubricated adjusted) for good working order on September 2019 - not used ever since - so all functions are accurate.
