It had just one level of play, no open library and would allow you to make illega...l moves! The computer can only play with the black pieces and has only one level of play. You had to send in the unit for an upgrade to play more difficult matches.
Another very interesting factoid about the CC1 is that they made it with the files and ranks reversed! In the horizontals you have 1...8 and verticals are A...H! You can see that detail in the pictures below. This makes this unit so rare. The first home electronic chess set, made different than normal chess.
Only 1, 000 units where produced. All newer versions of the game were made to be the same as proper chess, with the numbers on vertical columns and letter are on horizontal columns. Even most of the CC1 units were modified to the correct ranks, very few of these unmodified units exist! The cardboard box has a few tears, the actual game board has some wear from use also, the power cord works great. Please see my video on the link below and also see photos. Tested good! Has original styrofoam inserts and has some original paperwork, including the instructions. This is a rare gem! Look the item up if you don't believe me. Ships with care and insurance. Compare my listing with the other unmodified unit on this site.
