Size: Crinoid is 3.6 inches long, plate is 7 inches across!This is a very rare fossil echinoderm association. These are Onychocrinus, a crinoid, and Pentremites, a blastoid, from the Mississippian of Indiana. The Onychocrinus has excellent detail preserved - the many arm...s are easily seen, and the LONG stem is quite impressive. The blastoid is very large for this locality and also has fabulous detail preserved. The echinoderms have beautiful natural color and contrast and are well showcased on the natural-edged plate of shale that also contains some stems and a partial crinoid crown.
