Up for sale is this Antique H. Chapin Union Factory Combination 1/2" Tongue/Groove Plane Tool #CR33
This H. Chapin Union Factory Ca. 1828 Combination Tongue & Groove Plane is marked on toe. There is the 1/2" and No 171 on heel. Plane is a hefty 1 lb 1oz, (unsure what type of wood) (see close-ups). The wedges are in good shape and are original. It has been cleaned and oiled. It has minor staining but overall in very nice condition. It ha...s a great feel and patina (see photos). It measures approx 8-1/2" L. x 1-1/2" W. The cutter measures approx., 6-3/8" x 3/16". It has been clean and has traces of some pitting. NOTE: IT IS MISSING ONE CUTTER AND THE OTHER CUTTER AND ITS WEDGE IS FROZEN and I did not want to force it out, I will leave that up to you the expert!! (Please review all photos carefully) This is a very unique plane to add to your collection. The overall condition is pretty unique & exceptional.
