Certina Argonaut 280 - Automatic Watch. Condition is Pre-owned. 34 mm case but wears well on my 7.25 inch wrist as pictured. 20mm lugs and the square shape help it wear larger. I purchased this watch from a shop in Ireland 3.5 years ago, and it was serviced prior to sale. The serial number dates the watch to 1971, and is currently running at + 7.9 seconds a day with a power reserve of 42 hours. While not seen as much in the US as in Europe, Certina is an historic Swi...ss brand. Powered by an in-house movement (Certina 25-651), the watch represents the era before the quartz crisis and the general decline and consolidation of the Swiss watch industry. The watch is very versatile and works with any number of different straps/bracelets. Comes on burgundy leather strap that pairs well with the blue seconds hand and Certina logo. Please note - The date function worked when I purchased the watch, but the date wheel no longer turns. At my age I can't see the date too well, so I never bothered to get it fixed.
