Sheaffer 5-30 ringtop lever-fill fountain pen in jade with black accents, gold-filled trim, and fine 14K Sheaffer 5-30 nib.
Excellent (B) by Richard's/Reddit's notation. Pen has been restored (new sac, gently cleaned, polished) and verified in full working order.
Pen measures 4 1/2" capped and 5 3/4" posted, a larger ringtop with substantial girth.
Cap & clip: Cap shows no scratches, dings, dents, or damage of any kind. Superficial micro-abrasions f...rom normal use only. Beautiful jade color. Twin fine bands and ringtop are bright, clean, and free of plate loss. Black top accent band stamped: "5-30."
Barrel: Barrel shows no scratches, dings, dents, or damage of any kind. Superficial micro-abrasions from normal use only. Imprint is deep, clear, and stamped: "W.A. Sheaffer Pen Co / Pat Aug. 25 08 / Fort Madison IA USA. / Dec. 10.12-Jan.27-Oct.20-Nov.24.14." Cap threads snugly to the barrel. Barrel does show more oxidation than the cap but overall the color is better than most of the old jades I have seen.
Nib: Beautiful correct 14K firm fine Sheaffer 5-30 nib. Stamped "Sheaffer's / 5-30 / Made in USA." Writes a smooth fine line in all directions. Decent tipping.
Fill: Lever-fill. Pen fills perfectly and is ready to fill and write. Writes smoothly in all directions.
