Bob Doe was among the highest scorers during the Battle of Britain period, having flown Spitfires with great success with No 234 Squadron and then Hurricanes with No 238. Later in the war he was to remain with Hurricanes and carried out a spot of ‘tank busting’ in Burma for which he was awarded the Indian DSO. Bob Doe is also a member of the Caterpillar Club.
