Rare Antique SIMONDS SAW Mfg Co, USA Steel Backed 8" Dovetail Saw Old Tool Rare Antique SIMONDS SAW Mfg Co, USA Steel Backed 8" Dovetail Saw Old Tool You are bidding on a very nice and rare Antique SIMONDS SAW Mfg Co, US...A Steel Backed 8" Dovetail Saw in nice clean used condition.Cleaned and waxed beech handle is on its original brass slotted saw screws with the very nice Medallion with Patent Date of Dec 27 1887.
Please note that this is NOT the date of the saw but the patented saw screws used by SIMONDS!
Handle is good with undamaged horns as shown.
Good clear makers marks to the medallion as shown.
Brass back blade is 8"; 1 13/16" front; 2" rear to bottom of back. Blade is straight. Approx 16 tpi, teeth may need some attention, too small for my eyesight I am afraid!.Weight is 340g before safe packaging.
