We are pleased to offer this exceedingly rare 1853 woodcut of Tejon Indians from Volume VII of the United States Pacific Railroad Survey. The USPRR set out in 1853 to find a rail route from the Mississippi to the Pacific. Expedition members recorded everything they encountered from people to mountains including this village. The Tejon Indian Tribe of California is a federally recognized tribe of Kitanemuk, Yokuts, and Chumash ...indigenous people of California with a headquarters near Bakersfield, California. The image measures 6"x4 1/2" on an 8 1/2x11 sheet. We will ship in a tube for safe travel.
